Helga Marin is an inspirational speaker, life coach, NLP hypnotherapist and teacher with over 26 years of experience providing empowerment workshops to companies and organizations in Iceland, United Arab Emirates and in the United States.
In addition to providing corporate lectures and workshops, Helga has lead a number of workshops and courses for healthcare professionals in hospitals and clinics, both in the United Arab Emirates and in Iceland. In 2007, Helga set up an 8-week program for the medical staff of Dubai Health Care City. In May 2011 Helga was selected as one of the four keynote speakers at a major medical conference organized by Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. In Iceland, she has conducted a series of workshops for the staff of Landspítalinn (the main hospital in Iceland) and for Ljósið, a vital support center for cancer patients.
Helga worked for VR (a union in Iceland) for several years, running workshops for workers who had been made redundant and were undergoing vocational rehabilitation.
In Dubai, Helga conducted several courses at the Women and Children Center, which is a shelter for women and children who have suffered domestic violence. There she focused on inspiring women to regain their confidence and build a positive self-image.
In 2010 Helga was selected to present as a keynote speakers at a very successful conference, “Bridging the Gap”, held at Sheikh Zayed University. The goal of the conference was to find ways to connect and improve relations between locals and expats.
In 2015-2016, Helga worked at Sogn (a prison in Iceland) offering empowering workshops and life coaching to inmates. The goal was to help prisoners build a positive self image and teach them how to create a more fulfilled and prosperous life.
From 2010-2015 Helga worked as a teacher for ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) in Dubai and today she continues to design and develop workshops for the same company. Since 2019, she has been teaching at a master’s program in clinical nutrition at the University of Iceland. The students learn how to intrinsically motivate their future clients with the help of coaching.
Today Helga´s main mission is to work with both students and teachers on creating a more positive and empowering school environment. In collaboration with Ingrid Kuhlman, the owner of Þekkingarmiðlun she offers teachers a range of workshops on how to intrinsically motivate students while helping them to tap into their full potential.
Helga also runs workshops for high school and college students where she teaches students a variety of useful life skills that help to develop their character, strength and confidence. We all have within us a genius that waits for the opportunity to flourish. The goal of the student workshops are to help students discover their innate gifts and their inherent human potential so they may meet life head on, fully prepared with the right skills sets to succeed in with whatever area they set their mind on in life.
Helga has written over 100 articles that have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers in the United Arab Emirates and in Iceland. In Dubai she was a columnist for 2 prominent magazines and the largest newspaper in Dubai.
